Through the leadership of the full-time Fire Chief, the Beaumont
Fire Department is made up of 35 dedicated volunteer firefighters,
some of whom are additionally trained to EMR (Emergency Medical
Responder), EMT (Emergency Medical Technican) and EMT-P (Paramedic)
prehospital emergency medical levels. The department is responsible
for fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and rescue services.
The Beaumont Fire Department maintains a very pro-active fire
prevention program, which is recognized as one of the fire
prevention leaders in the Province. The objective of the Fire
Department is to provide professional response in a timely
manner to all required responses, as reasonably practical.
The Beaumont Fire Department provides fire inspection, fire
investigation and fire service training.
The Fire Department provides a first response to medical
calls and coordinates activities with the Emergency Services
Department of the City of Edmonton, who provides the ambulance
service. The Beaumont Fire Department members attend weekly
training sessions to ensure they are adequately trained to
respond to the needs of the community. The department has
three Pumper trucks (Engines), one 50 foot Aerial, Apparatus,
one medium duty Rescue, and a refurbrished Ambulance to provide
Medical Response capabilities to medical emergencies.
A Mutual-Aid Agreement exists with Leduc County for fire
fighting services, and there are agreements with the City
of Edmonton and Strathcona County for those municipalities
to provide services to Beaumont, if required. The Town's 911
emergency call centre is provided by Strathcona County.
